Today has been unexpectedly frantic. Early screenings were received very well, but the beginning was seen to be quite...erm...unexplained. So a few guys and I went out this morning to shoot a scene I wrote late last night, in which Jimmy Savile makes an appearance. Foley was also done, on location (and for the record, it looks like the fake blood we left dried pink, so we shouldn't be expecting any friendly policemen to come a'calling...)
The film has been recut based on the feedback it drew, and final cuts should be ready for tonight, just in time to send off to Dan, who's been great in thinking about the music, and so hopefully a finished version should be ready for release by March 28th 2009 - note the 'by', as it could be earlier than this.

PS- As all that's left to do is music, which I won't be greatly involved with, this will be the last post until more details about the release come.

Yeah yeah, I haven't posted since we filmed, except to say I was going to sleep. Which I didn't. I stayed up for a further 30 hours editing after that last post. At this moment in time, a fourth cut has been rendered and, apart from maybe a few sound effects I may want to add in, it is finished, and ready to be sent off for Dan to score. That's the bit I'm really looking forward to. Quick update: we're done, took under five hours. Fake blood failed, so we shot different fake blood scenes. After yesterday's post being late, I decided this should be early, as most of Day 8's work is complete, and the rest is mostly last-minute packing and organising. You are unlikely to have noticed the site has undergone a revamp (unlikely because as yet we get very few visitors to the site). This has been for multiple reasons, not least because we felt a change was in order. We've taken some stuff (e.g. New Slang) down, and put a whole load of new stuff up, while other things still need to be updated. Okay, I lie. It's actually Day 8, but let's not worry about that. Day 7 was a knackering day, even before we'd set out. I probably needed a bit more sleep first. Day 6, what a wonderful day on which to start a journal. However, today has been one of the least eventful days so far - I seem to have run out of things to prepare! If, one day, someone begins to follow this blog closely, hopefully this entry will be read with great interest. Recently members of LDP have begun pre-production on a new short called "Warlock Games", the first LDP film to have a full screenplay, collection of storyboards and, of course, fake blood. There will be blood, ladies and gentlemen. |
